DALEK

As anyone who has tried will tell you, designing a genuinely scary monster is very hard. Designing an iconic one is just downright difficult. So today we are remembering Ray Cusick who designed one of the very scariest and most iconic of all monsters.

RIP Ray Cusick

This past weekend Ray Cusick passed away.
He didn't create the concept of the eternal baddies
from Doctor Who known as "The Daleks," but
he did design the look of them. They've changed
a bit here and there over the  last 50 years, but the basic
design looks as it did in 1963.
Thanks for the creepy squid in a tank Mr. Cusick!

Edward Gorey Volunteers

I visited the Edward Gorey House about 6 years ago.  He has animals everywhere and his drawings all about his house.  As someone who has an eccentric mother (9 cats, 1 dog, 2 bunnies, 10 fish, 30+ hamsters), I thought it'd was pretty normal household.

What I found VERY interesting were the volunteers.  They were so devoted to Edward Gorey and spoke so passionately about him.  They had the same amount of devotion of zealous comic book fans and I liked them very much.

London Fashion Week

Unlike Natalie, I know ALL about London fashion week.
It's when women dress up like old fashioned Police men and wear those conical
type "Bobbie" hats. They also try to fit the British flag in there some
place....somehow.

London Fashion Week

Hi Gang!  It's been a while and I've missed the days of hanging with The Drawbridge gang.  I'm so happy to be see Simon and Tim again.

Today's topic is LONDON FASHION WEEK.

I know nothing about London Fashion Week so this will read like an 8 year old's class essay:

Sometimes I do graphic design at a shared work space.  A British reporter sat across from me and we became friends.  She was covering fashion week here in New York and she brought me in a handful of eco-friendly nail polish.

Also I like Japanese nail art.

The End.

xo,
Natalie

99942 APOPHIS

I'm sorry to hear about all those people hurt in Russia. That meteor was probbaly about 10 Tonnes in weight. I don't know what it looked like, so I've decided to draw 99942 Apohis instead which weighs 27 Million Tonnes and is due for a close encounter with the planet Earth in 2036. Apophis is the object with the highest rating on the Palermo Technical Impact Hazard Scale to date , though there are a few others coming soon that might better it. Apophis is likely to be larger than the asteroid that created the  Chicxulub asteroid impact crater in Yucatan. You know the one that killed all the Dinosaurs. Sleep well folks.

Meteor strike injures hundreds in central Russia

As you may have heard, a meteor struck Russia yesterday, but lucky nobody was killed.
The ancients  knew that meteors where "Betyls, the residence of God." Who am I to argue?
Here is my depiction of God flinging yet more chaos at the Earth.... as always.
