Jean Giraud 1938 - 2012

I find it impossible to be objective about Jean "Moebius" Giraud. If he had only ever drawn cowboys , he would still have been one of the greatest comic artists who has ever lived. He drew so much more than that though, he drew the future, he drew our dreams.

  1. He was the master of movement, big and small, he was the great oniric technician who blended spirituality with hard core reality, he was, he was...

...somebody who could actually illustrate a story others had written up and do a perfect job of it. That's rare enough among artists, and it's even rarer still among outstanding artists like him. Of course, in the case of the blueberry scripts he was lucky that he was working with a rock solid writer called Jean-Michel Charlier.
