Drew my Diabla on a crowded subway into Manhattan. I'm sure I was viewed with pity/scorn/amusement by all who saw me. Kind of an embarrassing thing to be drawing in public, this, but not as bad as my toilet monster.
Got home and colored it as luridly as possible, like something you'd see on the side of a van or on the most dangerous ride at the mobile carnival.
Unless you use lens flare, your colors aren't as lurid as they could be!
ReplyDeleteMan, opportunity missed! Thanks for stopping by, Barry!
ReplyDeleteThere are many comments I would make here...
ReplyDeleteNice luridness is all I will post in public.
Were you going 'hurr hurr hurr' quietly to yourself as you drew this on the Train? Did people move away from you? Did mothers shield their children's eyes? Did the stinking old schizophrenic guy who's been sleeping on the train all night, dabbing his grimy clothes with some old boxer shorts soaked in toilet cleaner, look at you across the carriage and ...smile?
ReplyDeleteNo?
...that must just have been me then
yes to all of them, Simon! I thought that stinking old schizophrenic looked familiar...
ReplyDeleteThe eyes are what really make it so I can see it on the side of a dangerous carnival ride. I like it.
ReplyDeleteYou won their attention with the fleshy belly and then earned their scorn with the hairy calves.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness I didn't have room for her cloven hooves.
