Dr. Who

When I was checking out the Drawbridge topic yesterday, this conversation ensued.

My apologies to Mr. Hamilton. Mr. Who is next on the Netflix queue.

  1. I can never figure out who's on first base either...

    Ha!

(season one is good but it gets much better in season 2 and 3)

  2. Better yet, just start with Matt Smith Season 1, then if you like it go back and do the previous recent seasons ( Eccleston * Tennant )

  3. Or start with season with season 42, with Chester Cummerbund as the doctor, or season 26, with Arnold Dilwhipple as the Doctor, or season 78, with a cardboard cutout of Tom Baker is the doctor. It's all good.

Nice comic, very Abbotian and Costellish of you.

  4. NO nO NO! If you start in season 5 you first have to at least watch the 4th season episodes "Silence in the Library" and "Forest of the Dead" (it's a two part story. Thus you will know who River Song is when she shows up in season 5.

Phew! Simon almost did you wrong there...

  6. I was starting with Doctor Who: The Ark in Space because that's the one that was streaming from Netflix.

  7. Natalie, that's a good one - it stars a giant maggot.

  8. Wilson P. Whiddleby, the only doctor who served two stints (the sixteenth and the 23rd) is further distingished by having the longest scarf and the curliest mop of hair of all 96 canaonical doctors, though Thomas Festerwich's Doctor, in the non-canonical 70's film " Dr. Who and the Dalek Conspiracy" did have a scarf woven entirely out of the curly hair of doctors 4, 11, 13 and, strangely, Doctor 46, Ernest Coker, who would not assume the role for another 28 years. That's all good watching, too.

  10. NoNoNO! Natalie, start with the new revamped show (seriously). The one that come out in 2005. You may not care for the old one version which was canceled in 1989.

George is making up everything he says. That's what happens when you were your pajamas all day.

  12. Colin Baker is well-known as the 32nd and a half doctor-- he supplied the face and hand movements in front of a green screen in his living room, while his be-scarved body was portrayed by Wilson Quentin Fuddicks at the studio in upper west Lancashire. His run on the series in well known as the only time two human actors portrayed the same Doctor. The 59th doctor, of course was portrayed by two actors, the voice of Rutherford Wesleybaddix and the puppetry of Olaf J. Siggurson, but was one of the three doctors to be visualized as a Muppet. Olaf Siggurson later went on to greater fame as the left hand of the Swedish Chef. All of this occurred before the graet revamping, as Tim mentioned, when all previous Doctors were retroactively designated as having been doppelgangers from Earth 2. In the new series designation, we are on the seventeenth Doctor, ably played by Fraz McCullichins with a hand puppet.

  13. Also, I'm totally not in my pajamas.

  14. You see what happened to George there?....Horrible!

  15. I dig the Swedish Chef reference. I swear to God that earlier today I told my Swedish friend to use it as his comedic persona. Which means 2 things: #1 we're on the same page and #2 I'm a jerk.

  16. Natalie, you don't want to be on my page. Quick, turn it!

I just noticed that you wrote that "Mr Who" is on your netflix, which is kind of aweseome.

  17. You wrote "MR. WHO," Natalie?

It'll take a few months, and some
heart felt apologies on your part, but I'm sure
we can repair our friendship eventually...

    Sigh.

  18. There was a Doctor who used to work with my Dad, called Hugh Toobie. Needless to say he was known widely as 'Dr Hugh'.

    Funny cartoon Natalie.

  19. Thank you, Kat!

Tim you're right. He didn't go to 4 years of medical school to be called "Mister". So sorry.
