Tim Truman's - Scout

A blast from the past. I remember looking at catalogs with pictures of these comics and not being able to get hold of them. They were impossibly exotic, unattainable things from a faraway country. To this day I have never read Scout. I'm sure it's awesome.

SCOUT warm up

Thanksgiving sometimes means visiting your parents house
and finding a box of comics you forgot you had.

Thus, a sketch of Timothy Truman’s “Scout” (which I used to read faithfully)
today as I warm up after a few days of eating and NOT much drawing.

John Carter, of Mars

I originally drew this for something else that is no longer occurring so, since it ain't, I figured I'd share it here. John carter getting all jack-rabbity on a Thark.

John Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine

I'm a bit late with this one. I blame the government...or something.
I like Burroughs , it's like the lizard DNA of Sci-Fi and Fantasy.

Jimmy Carter, Peace-Maker of Mars

Seeing as how I've never read any John Carter from Mars, every time I hear its mention, I think of Jimmy Carter.  And seeing as how I was born during the Carter administration, I've never heard this joke before though I'm certain it's been made.

Did this one all in Photoshop.  I oil paint-ified it though the original might be a little better?

John Carter Warlord of Mars

In VERY early anticipation of the coming
movie, we are doing “John Carter, Warlord of Mars” illustrations.

Guest Drawbridger, Rabid Rabbit guy and children's book author Paul Hoppe wanted me to post his amazing Fantomah!

Enjoy it below!

We are doing another of the WhiteChapel Blog character reinvention challenges. This time Fantomah from Fletcher Hanks. A truly deranged creation. She ran around the jungle with a
skull head or some such craziness....

Fantomah - because you've been BAD! ( in the jungle)

Another one for the WhiteChapel Blog character reinvention challenge. This time Fantomah from Fletcher Hanks. A truly deranged creation.
