Starfire

Starfire at the beach here. Not exactly the teeny bopper apple-shape headed heroine that we all know and love, but a little older. She is a DC COmics character created by Marv Wolfman and George Perez.

Me no am Bizarro Superman!

I LOVE Bizarro. One day I'll draw a comic with him.

Here's an earlier take I did of Superman's imperfect duplicate.

Jack Kirby's New Gods-- Parademons! UPDATED! IN COLOUR!

Surprisingly hard to find some good Kirby reference of Darkseid's footsoldiers, the Parademons, so I kind of cobbled mine together from some toys, the Superman animated series, and my own jumbled memories. Coulda used more Kirby crackle but, Hell, I ain't got all day.

UPDATED!!

Check the comments section on this post-- Simon Fraser  suggested that this piece would look better in 'colour' (he's Scottish) and I invited him, or anyone really to color it in, because as noted above, I ain't got all day. So Simon colored, it took him 20 minutes, and I'm eating crow. It does look much better, and he even added more substantial Kirby Crackle. In my defense, I wouldn't have colored it so nicely :)

The Green Dumas

So I thought what would be awesome, right if each of the Three Musketeers, d'Artagnan, Cardinal Richelieu, Milady de Winter, King Louis and all them had LANTERN RINGS??!!! Dudes. Epic!!! Heheh I don't know anything about Green Lantern except I'm not really a fan, but I am all over Dumas in a major way.

(Oh, I imagine this as Aramis!)

Green Lantern of the Third Kind

I wanted to go as alien as possible for my Green Lantern-- it's kind of a pet peeve of mine that most fictional aliens are, like, human, but with blue skin or a ridged nose or something. My Green Lantern hails from a gas giant planet in a distant, sunless sector of the universe. The atmosphere of his planet is liquid methane, and his people slide up and down silicate stalks absorbing ambient nutrients from its environment. It's a closed system, in that it has no substantial free-floating appendages to put a ring on, so it swallowed it's ring thru its cloacanus. It has no concept of green, being without eyes, so it depends on descriptions of the universe provided via direct mental stimulation from its ring.

How's that for some comicbookey sci-fi gobbledy gook?

Solo Sunday- Bizarro by George

As far as my warm-up compatriots go, it was just me at the studios today, so I indulged myself by drawing one of my favorite characters, Superman's imperfect duplicate, Bizarro. I call this piece "Hooray, lucky Yorick! Me am no know him at all."
