Loved this World Cup - and the final was a game for the ages. As a longtime fan of Joachim Löw, Germany's stylish manager, I had to celebrate Germany's win with some fan art...albeit in a guise the sartorially elegant Löw might not recognize. Wir freuen uns sehr auf Gowanus, Herr Löw!

Patrick Woodroffe & H. R. Giger. Both hugely influential and much loved. I did a drawing kind of based on my half memories of looking at both men's work while a drunk student in the late 80s. Thank you gentlemen.

We thought we'd just follow in the foot steps of last week, and let Television dictate our theme again. As Mad Men premiered this week, the theme is...Mad Men. The MAD MAN I decided to draw is The Hound from Game of Thrones. I read (some of) the books before the show aired but once it aired I noticed the "hound" like helmet that the Hound wore. I remember it wobbling a bit and looking like a awkward prop to get to work correctly. I never did see that helmet much after that one time that I can remember. Below is my version of his helmet and what he may look like.

The new season of Game of Thrones aired the other night so we may as well be shameless and hop on the band wagon. I've already read the books so I hope you all enjoy the massive amount of deaths to come this season. Or I could be lying! Anyway, here's Daenerys and one of her dragons.

Hi all! Ellen Lindner here, a member of Drawbridge's neighbor studio, Hypothetical Island. For my first post I wanted to participate in the current drawing challenge, one line world leader.
Here's German Chancellor Angela Merkel - lineart is one line! Though I couldn't resist adding some color.
I'd sign it but that's a few more lines :)
Merkel seems to be the only person keeping the Eurozone afloat - while having conversations with the otherwise unreachable Putin in her flawless Russian - so kudos to her.

Simon suggested that as the topic for today. Just so happens I was working on some new techniques with all the pirate reference I have left over from that long ago Treasure Island job. This is not a quick sketch but something I did late last night. This is the famous scene where Israel Hands tries to stab Jim Hawkings, or "shake Jim loose" from the crows nest.
